Welcome to Energy Academy

Empowering Your Energy Production

At Energy Academy, we’re not just a training provider – we’re your strategic partner in fostering operational efficiency and safety.

Based in the Netherlands with several decades of experience in the energy sector, we’ve honed our expertise in training the staff of many large energy producers, including Engie, Uniper, AVR, AEB and more.

Now, we’re bringing our advanced training solutions to the international market.

Our Mission

Our mission extends beyond merely offering courses; we aim to enhance your facility’s operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize OPEX by empowering your most valuable asset – your human resource.

Our target sectors include but are not limited to:

Waste incineration

Coal-fired power plants

Biomass power plants

Waste sorting plants

Recycling plants

Our Services

The Facts speak For Themselves

At Least 30% Less Accidents on Site

The ultimate goal is always a 100% reduction, but variations exist depending on specific installations and conditions. At our reference facilities, our comprehensive training programs have demonstrated an effective reduction in safety-related incidents by 30-40%.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY & CO2 FOOTPRINT

Through energy efficiency increase by 2-5 percentage points we can help you achieve reduction of the CO2 footprint per MWh by 30-55 percentage points.

In the case of 100MWel block operating at 90% uptime, the potential annual cost savings range from can therefore reach up to 1,3M€

EFFICIENCY INCREASE

We start from the fact that our staff improvement programs allow increasing the thermal efficiency of the plant by 2-5 percentage points.

For a coal-fired power plant operating at 40% efficiency, we observed an increase to 42-45%.

CO2 REDUCTION PER MWh

This increase in efficiency translates into a corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions per MWh of energy produced, from a sample of 900kg/MWh to 870 and 845 respectively.

Thus, a reduction of 30-55kg/MWh.

COST REDUCTION OF CO2 EMISSIONS

Based on the assumed CO2 tariff in Poland of €30 per tonne, the reduction of 30-55kg/MWh translates to cost savings of €0.90 to €1.65 per MWh.

When extrapolating these savings to an annual scale for a power plant with a capacity of 100MWel operating at 90% uptime, the potential annual cost savings range from €709,560 (for a 30kg/MWh reduction) to €1,301,860 (for a 55kg/MWh reduction).

UPTIME ENHAnCEMENT

Our expertise-driven training programs don’t merely enhance operational efficiency—they shield your facility from a considerable production loss, representing an avoided financial loss of up to 0,5M€ annually for a 100MWel power plant (equivalent)

In a typical older coal-fired power plant, downtime due to corrective maintenance accounts for 5% of operational hours in a year. This results in a production loss equivalent to 438 hours annually (5% of 8760 hours).

Our tailored training programs proved be able to effectively reduce these downtimes by 20%, curtailing the production loss by 87.6 hours each year (20% of 438 hours). This boosts the plant’s availability, preventing a significant production shortfall.

Conversion to Avoided Production Loss in 100MWel plant equivalent:

Installed Capacity: 100MWel

Avoided Production Loss due to Reduced Downtime:

87.6 hours x 100MW = 8,760 MWh

Assuming an average cost of lost production is €50 per MWh, the Avoided Financial Loss will be:

8,760 MWh x €50/MWh = €438,000
